Each day holds a surprise. But only if we expect it can we see, hear, or feel it when it comes to us. Let’s not be afraid to receive each day’s surprise, whether it comes to us as sorrow or as joy.

I have been going to our local Episcopal Church for the past couple of weeks. I thought that I would visit a few, but decided there is no need, I really like it here. And, my surprise today was a cute welcome goodie-bag! It certainly made me feel welcome and that we can really become a part of our new community, somewhere we we can embrace the surprise of each new day, meet new friends, and celebrate our shared humanity.
