Everything becomes magnified at night. Sounds travel in a different way, it’s dark,
and everything seems far more spooky. Jo Brand
I am slowly getting used to our new lifestyle of having to take the dog out on a lead, instead of just shooing him out into the back yard. So, tonight I wandered down to the river, which was eerily beautiful. It was remarkable for a few reasons: I had forgotten how dark it was, all you could see are the lights on the other side of the river, and a few dark shadows. It was deathly quiet, except for the sound of the train’s bells at a crossing a couple of miles away. I was alone with the dog…and it was totally safe. For these reasons and more I am again grateful for where our journey has brought us.
