“At the southernmost point of the Canadian mainland – Point Pelee National Park, experience nature like never before. Each spring, view flocks of migratory birds, joined in autumn by waves of vivid Monarch butterflies. In winter, wander snowy trails past ice-cloaked trees and in summer, bask on sandy beaches. Whether you cycle, paddle or hike Canada’s smallest but most ecologically diverse national park, you’ll be immersed in an unforgettable eco-adventure.” – Parks Canada
Our little adventure across the border at the weekend definitely immersed us in an unforgettable ecoadventure, from trekking across the sandy beach in subzero temperatures, to walking on frozen Lake Erie, to witnessing the enormous frozen ‘waves’ three times our heights, to touching the southernmost tip of Canada, to listening to the groans and cracks of the moving ice, and hiking through the snowy forest paths. Next time we will be a little more prepared! Looking forward to experiencing what the different seasons bring.
