I seem to be including a lot of sunrise photos at the moment…perhaps this is the time of day when I am most aware of the gift of each new day. Today was a hard one for me…being the only time available to travel and honor my Dad, but coinciding with Expert1’s special birthday…the big 50. I know that he says it is just a birthday, but it is not JUST a birthday. It is a special birthday. Half a century that he has been alive. THAT in itself is something that should be celebrated. He has deeply loved me, even when I have felt unworthy, giving me the strength to carry on, and I have loved him deeply, giving me courage each new day. I am deeply grateful for being chosen to be his life partner, and look forward to celebrating this milestone as a family. I am grateful for his role in our girls lives…teaching them unconditional love, discipline, hard work, success. I have also had the opportunity to reflect and give thanks for the roles of our father’s in our lives…quietly supportive, steadfast, and caring…always steering us forward, even if it has meant a million miles from them, just to ensure our happiness and success in all we do.
