There’s something about it that makes sense, Lent. You give something up, and everything’s more joyful – Elaine Stritch
With the false-spring weather, I have been trying to get out in this unusual season with our stay-at-home order. It is probably the first Lent in 20 years at least that I have to physically remind myself that it is Lent. But, yet, that said, I have found daily reminders, just as this in someone’s front garden. It was perfect timing to reflect on where I stand. This Lent we have given up life as we knew it, on a global scale, we have grieved, we are scared, we do not know where we are going. But with faith, a deepened commitment, a more simple life, there is joy. The joy of truly connecting with family and friends. The joy of learning how to truly live again.
