“What should young people do with their lives today? Many things, obviously. But the most daring thing is to create stable communities in which the terrible disease of loneliness can be cured.” ― Kurt Vonnegut, Palm Sunday: An Autobiographical Collage
This the view of Palm Sunday from afar – not only because of the current social distancing and ‘Stay-at-Home’ order, but because it is in South Africa at Expert2’s parents, and we are in the USA. This is how we share our experiences, so we are not isolated on our own little islands, but connected through our experiences, and by taking photos and sharing them. It is strange not to be in church leading up to Easter, and it has been strange to have to import palms from tropical climates to uphold the traditions we believe in for Palm Sunday – where branches were laid down in the streets as Jesus entered on his donkey. It was nice to see you others adorned their homes to welcome Jesus in preparation for Holy Week. Through our global experience of isolation, it is fundamental that we create stable communities of love and understanding to cure the disease of loneliness! Grateful for our community, and for being able to share from afar.
