‘Time is a sort of river of passing events, and strong is its current; no sooner is a thing brought to sight than it is swept by and another takes its place, and this too will be swept away.’ – Marcus Aurelius
It is fascinating to watch the river, and the constant movement – you can watch a single place, and nothing stays the same – the movement is all slightly different, and everything is washed downstream with the speed of the current, and something new appears where you were watching. This is a good analogy of what we are going through with stay-at-home. Things seem the same, but time is sweeping away the objects we were looking at so fast, and they are being replaced with different things all the time. It is teaching us to be resilient, to evolve, to be the best that we can be under the circumstances. Grateful for beautiful calm summer days, and for rivers that teach us new things all the time.
