“The discipline of gratitude is the explicit effort to acknowledge that all I am and have is given to me as a gift of love, a gift to be celebrated with joy.” – Henri Nouwen
On Saturday nights since this has started, we have been part of a zoom-supper club to check in on local friends and say hi, and feel a little less isolated in the world. We are grateful that we have been included in this friend group because we are so new here, and on Saturday we had our first social-distancing real-life get together on their deck – a beautiful piece of paradise. Grateful that they are so willing to share this with us. But, it didn’t end there …these dear new friends baked me a gorgeous birthday cake, and sprinkled me with love. I woke up this morning grateful for the God-thing that brought us together, and that they so willingly have shared their friendship with us. My heart is full, and ready to pay forward the love shared with me.
