Germany has all these beautiful wind vanes on the barns in the countryside. It makes me think of how long these farms have been operating – much longer than I can imagine, and not much of the simplicity of this lifestyle has changed. It also reminds me of the importance of wind for farmers, to make sure their livestock is safe, to know if there will be rain for the crops, or too much rain for their crops, everything to prepare for various possibilities. They remind me to not stress about things that we cannot control (like wind), but prepare for things that we can control. Grateful for these reminders.
