“Creativity is allowing yourself to make mistakes. Art is knowing which ones to keep.” – Scott Adams
This week in the library and information world it is International Open Access Week, and in our library we have been trying to highlight these important events through pop-up displays. I found this was really hard to conceptualize, as much of Open Access is online. It took a lot of effort to come up with creative ideas to get people thinking around Open Access issues, and its importance. I was so nervous of not doing the right thing, or including the right messages. But in the end I realized that perfectionism gets in the way of creativity, and you only early through your mistakes. I learned a lot, and am grateful for the opportunity. Hopefully sparked some interest and conversation around this…hard to tell!
