“In every walk with nature, one receives far more than he seeks.” – John Muir

Hiking along the Fortuna trails in Mission Trails Regional Park a couple of weeks ago was exactly the reset my soul needed. There’s something about the rugged beauty of San Diego’s peaks that forces you to be present, but it was this simple, man-made gesture on the dirt path that truly stopped me in my tracks. Finding a heart made of stones nestled among the brush felt like a direct message from the universe, a microjoy left behind by a fellow hiker to remind us that love, gratitude, and kindness are everywhere if we just look down. After being away from this blog for so long, stumbling upon this trail art felt like a warm welcome back to my daily practice. I am so grateful for the strangers who take a moment to create beauty for others to find, and for the stamina to keep climbing until I see the heart in everything.
Have you ever found trail magic or unexpected art while out on a hike that changed your mood?
