The reason for my visit to Michigan was to do some house hunting in earnest, since the closing on our present house is looming and we have nowhere to go. So, we pretty much looked at a huge radius of where we might live in a reasonable commute distance to work, and based on the lifestyle that we would like to get back to, settled on Grosse Ile. Now, there are a variety of different houses on the island, some nice and some not so nice…which is polite! We also don’t want to overextend ourselves, and would like less financial pressure. And then, there are those houses that you dream about. How cool would it be to wake up to this view every day, looking over at Canada on the other side of the river! Never mind that the house was built in 1928, with many of the features retained. It is never too late to set goals, and even if we don’t wake up to this now, it could happen one day!
