Today, being what would have been my brother’s birthday, I celebrated being alive. I didn’t really feel like painting, but then I remembered that I am privileged to be here, because life is really short, and we need to make each moment count, for ourselves, for our loved ones, for our communities. I am grateful to have a space that I can paint, and remodel, when some are homeless. I am grateful that I have the gift of joy, and can share this with others. I am also aware of the responsibility of this gift, and know that it is my duty to share it, and celebrate each moment of each day, living with a grateful heart in this life of blessing and abundance. And by abundance, I don’t mean possessions, but love and peace. I wish this for everyone.
