‘Out of the fires of desperation burn hope and solidarity.’ Sharan Burrow
Desperate times call for desperate measures. The water situation in Makanda is so drastic that most places have enormous water tanks collecting what little rainwater there is for the necessities…such as flushing the toilet. For three days in a row we have had no water…so this is what we have been doing. This is a crisis that has come to a head through political greed and the environment….I am grateful that I now live in a place with an abundance of flowing water and pray that this will be restored for Makanda in the near future. It is amazing how resourceful people have become when things become difficult, with very little complaining. You just do what you have to do to keep things going.
