When I decided to do a marathon, I googled good local marathons to attempt for first timers…and came up with the Bayshore Marathon in Travis City…so I asked Expert2 if he would be up for a road trip to the other side of Michigan, and then booked the races for the two of us! I did actually know that he would be game for a little adventure, but when I booked I didn’t realize that it fell on a long weekend – Bonus! So, we went on a little adventure to northern Michigan…explored Travis City and surrounding coast of Lake Michigan, and of course couldn’t leave out a trip across the Straits of Mackinac to the Upper Peninsular! We would have explored a little more, but I left my iPad in Travis City…so had to go all the way back to fetch it on our way home! Yikes! Grateful for the patience of Expert2, and for our awesome little road trip! We truly experienced the beauty of the Great Lakes, vineyards, cherry orchards, and rolling hills, and will be back to enjoy them more!
