“My 21st birthday was awesome. I was in L.A., and it was great. I had a bunch of friends that came out. The night ended up in a completely different direction than we thought it was going to go.” Jonathan Keltz

What an amazing fun filled day for the parents….so, am sure even more fun for Girlchild1! Started with an early morning coffee run at the bestest coffee shop (including Plus1… who we met for the first time)…followed by the bestest ever breakfast burrito…followed by an outing to the beach with two surfboards…taken up by Girlchild1 and her dad, well supported by Plus1 swimming at a safe distance, and mom watching from the beach to make sure all were safe, and no fins popping out the water could be seen!!! If you ask me, a pretty cool way to spend a couple of hours. Then, back home to glamorize a little, get rid of the salt in our hair and sand between our toes before heading out to a pretty trendy hard kombucha tasting place….YUM! The bestest ever! Not to mention the game of ‘Cards Against Humanity’….a rather interesting icebreaker for those unacquainted with the game, or each other. Needless to say, we survived with our egos in tact, and maintained our sense of humor (it is possible that the hard kombucha helped in this regard!) We ended our little sojourn with a trip to Trader Joes to stock up for the ‘pre-game party’ a little later. We said our goodbyes, so proud of yous and all that you have achieved, goodluck for the future, etc and disappeared out of visible sight. We did stay on the radar to make sure all was safe and relatively well…but did have regular updates (including a 3 am mandatory checkin call), and all was good and a tremendously fun time was had until at least 5 am!!! So grateful for the gift of Girlchild1 and all that she is. Cannot believe she is 21! Proud to be her parents. Excited for the next chapter! Grateful to be able to have celebrated this milestone with her in such unexpected ways! Grateful for her special friends who helped make her day so epic!
