“I wonder if the snow loves the trees and fields, that it kisses them so gently? And then it covers them up snug, you know, with a white quilt; and perhaps it says, “Go to sleep, darlings, till the summer comes again.”
― Lewis Carroll, Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland & Through the Looking-Glass
If this blanket were a snow quilt, and Riley was a tree, he would be asleep until summer…. and so would I! Although, I do really love fresh snow and its beauty, the cold and ice are not fun. I am grateful for a warm home, warm food, and a warm bed, and pray for all those without in the cold bleak weather. I also know that praying is not enough, so it is encouraging me to get out and help those in need.
